Jan has a life long interest and passion for painting. Initially learning the basics from a variety of visiting art tutors at her local art group in Kinoulton.The opportunity to work for two years as the resident artist on a new venture set up by the Rural Training Centre, Owston in Leicestershire enabled Jan to offer students experimental, fun mixed media classes.
She was delighted to be invited by the National Trust to run a painting workshop for children at Tattershall Castle to celebrate their 90th Anniversay and regularly teaches children both privately and in schools.
With exhibitions locally and in Cornwall including the prestigious Nottingham Castle Open in 2006 the career Jan had always dreamed of has become a reality!
Jan has won both the Broughton Cup and the George Harris Cup.
